Karen Warnham – Practice Manager

Karen joined in early 2014 and became Practice Manager in 2016, overseeing the general running of all the practices in the Penmellyn group.

Her career has been predominantly in the financial sector, starting within the Natwest Bank and then moving to accountancy after having her children.

In her previous role as Accounts/HR Manager, for another local company, she gained knowledge in Human Resources and Marketing, these skills are all incorporated into her present role.

Karen was born and brought up in in the St Austell area. She has always been an animal lover and does not feel a house is complete without a pet or two. Karen has a busy life outside of work looking after three children, three cats Jess, Maggie and Nellie and two Guinea pigs Dotty and Daffy.

Claire Anstey – Client Services Manager

Claire is our Client Services Manager and an integral part of our Admin Team. Claire joined the practice in February 1998 having moved back to Cornwall following a successful career working as a Legal PA to senior Advocates in Alderney, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.

Outside of work Claire’s interests include gardening, cooking, cycling, walking, photography, computers, films and music. Whilst Claire is interested in all animals, her only pet is a rather large cat called Jack who needed a home from the practice about 9 years ago.

Claire reports that when he arrived at his new home he managed two circuits around the kitchen and then found the most comfortable chair next to the Aga where he has remained ever since!

Sarah Wilkinson

Sarah is Cornish born and bred and was brought up in Fowey. Her father was a postman and her mother a housewife and a part-time medical secretary. Before moving to St Veep they started up a Welsh pony stud.

Sarah has qualifications in RSA Pitmans script, RSA II English and RSA III typing. She is the office manager within our practice and is specifically interested in maintaining a happy and cheerful office.

Sarah enjoys having a good relationship with the Penmellyn clients, and working with colleagues and vets.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, riding, running (and the occasional race) and generally keeping fit.

Sarah has a lot of pets. These include a syrian hamster, a russian hamster, six guinea pigs, one rabbit, six cats, two dogs, twenty (yes- 20!) ponies and twelve chickens. One of the dogs was rehomed from the practice approx 10 years ago after being involved in a road traffic accident, both hindlegs were dislocated and his pelvis was fractured. In February 2009 he needed a spinal operation with Colin but he has made a full recovery and is running around once more.

Sam Jayne

Sam is one of our equine administrators who is responsible for invoicing and stock management.

Outside of work she is interested in running and fitness. She has two dogs at home- a retriever and a spaniel.

Her aims are to keep improving our customer service.

Christina Coles

Christina is our accounts assistant and credit control manager

She joined the practice in March 2011. Her responsibilities are divided between handling telephone calls and the reception desk.

She has a Jack Russell called “Elsa”, 2 cats “Jack and Rango” and a budgie “Boomer” – she is a busy girl outside of work as well as in.

Jane Wingfield

Jane has a Certificate in Personnel Management. Her background is in Human Resources and Project Management working in a high security hospital until moving back home to Cornwall to work for Cornwall Health Authority.

She has been a member of the Admin/Reception staff at our St. Columb Surgery since 2005.

Outside of work Jane enjoys travelling, motor racing, equine events and photography. She has a very handsome rescue tabby cat called Robbie.

Hope Woods

Hope joined the practice in March 2011.

She is one of the receptionist based at our St Columb Major surgery.

Her responsibilities involve looking after the clients on the phone as well as the reception.

Annette Stephens

Annette joined the practice after several years of working in reception/admin in the hotel industry.

She enjoys meeting people reading, swimming and walking the family dog called Bullett who is a 13 year old German Shepherd Cross.

Annette is based at our St Columb Major surgery.

Taylor Barlow

Taylor Barlow is part of our reception team at St Columb.

She has two dogs called Woody and Zara, a cat called BB and also several tropical fish.

She is presently studying for her A Levels in Chemistry, Biology and Physics.

In her spare time she likes to bake.

Fran Cookson

Fran is originally from Blackpool but has lived on a dairy farm Cornwall for many years.

She has five dogs, two of which are rescue greyhounds.

Outside of work her interests are walking her dogs and visiting National Trust Gardens.

Jacqui Moses

Jacqui was born in the Middle East and moved back to Cornwall aged 10 to attend boarding school.

She has a passion for all animals and currently has a horse, 2 cats, 3 dogs and a duck. Jacqui joined us in November 2016 after a long career with a high street bank.

Her 2 children keep her busy in her spare time, she also enjoys riding her mare, Fern, walking her 3 spaniels and partaking in dog agility as well as baking.

Jacqui is part of our reception team, enjoying meeting our clients and getting to know their pets.

Amanda Robbins

Amanda joined our reception team at St. Columb in March 2017 covering maternity leave. She is originally from Haywards Heath and moved to Cornwall thirteen years ago with her Cornish partner.

She has always loved animals and was brought up with dogs, a cat and many horses.

In her spare time she enjoys socialising, gardening, exploring National Trust properties and attending Steam Rallies.
