BEST OF CARE: MODERN MEDICINE, TRADITIONAL VALUES

We are sad to announce we have recently treated a confirmed case of Cutaneous and Renal Glomerular Vasculopathy (CRGV, also known as Alabama Rot) in one of our canine patients.

This is an emerging disease in the UK and its cause is not fully understood. The hallmarks of this deadly disease are usually an unexplained skin sore, typically on the lower half of a limb, and sudden and rapid kidney failure.

There have been 152 cases confirmed in the UK since 2012, 29 of which have occurred in 2018. We encourage everyone to get any unexplained skin sores on their dogs checked by us.

Please be advised the area where this dog was exercised prior to falling ill was roughly within the triangle formed by the villages of Leedstown, Nancegollan and Praze-an-Beeble.
