BEST OF CARE: MODERN MEDICINE, TRADITIONAL VALUES

Wishing everyone a relaxing Easter weekend.

Rest assured that we are always available throughout the whole of the weekend if you need us.

Our emergency service is run by our own practice staff from the St Columb Major hospital with access to all of your pet’s clinical records (01637 880307). Our phone is answered by one of our nursing team and our duty vet is available to see you if necessary.

We are on our emergency service on Good Friday with Jason Holt on duty.

We are open for consultations as normal from 8.30am to 4.30pm on Saturday, with Anisha Hampal on duty on Saturday evening and throughout Sunday.

James Christie takes over the emergency service on Easter Monday.

We hope that you and your pets have a very Happy Easter from us all at Penmellyn Vets.

The Dangers of Chocolate in Dogs

Please be aware of the toxicity of chocolates in dogs.

Chocolate contains a stimulant called theobromine (a bit like caffeine) that is poisonous to dogs.

The amount of theobromide differs in the different types of chocolate (dark chocolate has the most in it).

Use this handy chocolate poisoning calculator to work out if your pet has been affected by eating chocolate.
